What to do in the Garden in May

Isn’t Spring nice, eh?! The days are longer, the days are slightly warmer. Here’s a list of things you may want to do in your garden.

Vegetable Garden

  • Get some of your seedlings started. In our May box you can find Dwarf French Beans (a firm fav of mine), Brussel Sprouts, Swiss Chard and Rocket.

Other Jobs

  • Weeds will be coming up like there is no tomorrow, so it’s time to get rid of them. If you find any weeds or wild flowers that you don’t want in your garden but could be used for eating, skincare or general wellness you could explore using them. We’ve got an article about foraging here.

  • Frost is still a possibility in the UK, so you want to keep protecting tender plants from any late frost.

  • Now is the time to start watering either in the early morning or in the evening. If there is loads of sun this month, you don’t want to risk scorching your plants. Check our our article all about rainwater.
