Try It Thursday’s - Beetroot

Every Wednesday over on our Instagram we will invite our followers to pick a microgreen for us to grow at The Grow Guide HQ on Thursday.

Last Thursday, you selected Beetroot over Peashoots.

So we got growing!

Here’s how to grow your own.

  1. Soak your seeds - ideally for 24hrs. We soaked ours for 6hrs.

  2. Find a container - we made use of an old blueberry punnet from our local shop. Fill it with soil

  3. Pour your seeds on top

  4. Spread it out

  5. Cover with a thin layer of soil

  6. Cover with a lid to remove any light and place in a cupboard

  7. When your seeds have germinated and are large enough to handle - you want to remove the lid and place it on a warm windowsill.

  8. Cut, rinse and eat.

Day 3

After 3 days check on them…some of the seeds will be germinating. Beetroot usually takes about 10 - 12 days to germinate so don’t get too disheartened if you’re not seeing too much growth just yet. Things are happening just below the surface!

Follow along with us.

You can use any beetroot seeds you have. This is perfect for people who want to grow but don’t have much space. Unlike normal growth of beetroot seeds, you don’t need much space because you won’t be growing the root.
