How to Make Your Own Bug Hotel

Bugs are vital for the health of your garden. They’re useful for pollinating your plants, and some are very useful at eating pesky insects.

Here’s our simple guide to making a cosy bug hotel:

You will need:

• An old plastic bottle cut into a cylinder

• Twigs

• Twine / String for hanging

• Bark

• Moss

• Bamboo

What to do:

1. Get a large plastic bottle and cut the ends off.

2. Feed your twine through the bottle

3. Fill it with sticks and twigs, bark and moss - if you have bamboo, you can use that too. Stuff it, until it’s firmly filled as you don’t want anything to fall out.

That’s it. Hang it up - and let the bugs find a cosy spot!
